DANCER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
For aspiring dancers ages 6 & up
Our Dancer Enrichment Program is thoughtfully designed to equip each student with the essential skills and etiquette needed for success in dance. Through structured lessons, dancers will learn foundational dance vocabulary alongside exercises that strengthen coordination, flexibility, and body control. The program also emphasizes musicality, encouraging students to connect deeply with the rhythm and flow of music, while fostering creativity and expressive movement. By mastering both technique and artistry, dancers develop confidence and discipline that will enhance their overall dance experience. Parent viewing is the first week of each month.

Perfect for children who want to explore ballet at a recreational level, this class combines strength, flexibility, and coordination development with the joy of dance. Students benefit from a broader ballet vocabulary, helping them feel more confident and expressive in their movements. Learning to match steps with musical counts improves both discipline and creativity, while the use of props helps enhance choreography and musical skills in a fun way.

This class is ideal for students preparing for more advanced ballet training in our pre-professional program. It builds strength, coordination, and flexibility through an extensive ballet vocabulary and structured exercises. The emphasis on musicality, counting steps, and perfecting technique helps students refine their skills while nurturing their creativity and passion for ballet. No prior experience is required, making this a welcoming yet challenging class for students ready to grow.

Intermediate Jazz - Wednesday, 5:45-6:45pm
Advanced Jazz - Wednesday, 6:45-7:45pm
Dancers will learn the fundamentals and proper jazz techniques such as isolations of the body, learning performance quality and rhythms and patterns which progress with age and ability. Dancers will be exposed to a variety of jazz styles such as Broadway, Street, and Contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer.

Classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knees and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement which will progress with age and ability. Dancers will learn a variety of tap styles including Broadway to Rhythm Tap.

Contemporary dance is all about freedom, expression, and pushing boundaries. In this high-energy, emotionally charged class, dancers blend elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance to create unique, fluid movement. Through improvisation, floor work, and dynamic choreography, students explore new ways to express themselves while building strength, flexibility, and artistry. With a focus on personal expression, contemporary dance allows dancers to break free from traditional structures and find their own voice in movement. This class is perfect for those looking to challenge themselves and dive into the creative, limitless world of contemporary dance!

This fun and dynamic class offers the perfect blend of ballet and tap, giving young dancers the best of both worlds! For the first half of the class, students will focus on the grace and technique of ballet, building strength, balance, and coordination. In the second half, they’ll switch gears to the lively rhythms of tap, enhancing musicality, timing, and footwork. This engaging one-hour class allows children to explore two distinct dance styles in a fun, supportive environment that nurtures both creativity and discipline. Ideal for dancers who love variety and are eager to explore multiple forms of dance!

Our performing opportunities allow students to elevate their artistic expression and technical precision through real-world stage experiences. Each year, Excellence in Dance hosts a vibrant Student Workshop, where dancers not only showcase their talent but also have the unique opportunity to choreograph their own pieces. Additionally, Ballet Excel Ohio takes the stage every March for its highly anticipated annual performance, with exciting chances to perform throughout the year. These experiences ignite creativity, build confidence, and provide dancers with the spotlight they need to grow as versatile and accomplished performers.

Attire:
Ballet Girls wear black leotards, pink tights and pink ballet shoes Colored leotards and skirts may be worn in the last class of each month.
Ballet Boys wear white or black dance shirts, black men’s leggings, white socks and black canvas spilt sole shoes.
Tap and Jazz Girl dancers wear colored leotards or form-fitting dance shirts (no bare midriffs), black jazz pants, leggings or capris.
Tap and Jazz Boy dancers wear form-fitting dance shirts and black jazz pants or leggings.
Contemporary Girl dancers wear pink or nude convertible tights or footless tights
Contemporary Boy dancers wear Black footless leggings.
Jazz: Tan jazz shoes
Tap: Black, hard sole, tap shoes
Contemporary: Barefoot but may wear foot thongs or ballet shoes to protect the ball the foot. No dance socks.
